Mission

Purpose:

The purpose of the platform is to enhance the profile of teaching carried out at business schools and continuously improve it. It is used to publish high quality teaching and learning materials and promotes the international exchange of information between lecturers.

Services provided:

Reviewed teaching resources

The platform is the first electronic platform that provides teaching resources for use in business schools that have been reviewed by two independent reviewers. This both ensures the quality of the published materials and respects the development and authoring of educational materials as a valuable academic endeavour.

Comprehensive range of subjects

The platform covers all specialist topics currently taught at business schools, which in addition to the disciplines of business administration and economics, includes mathematics, communication, law, society, research methods etc. The forms of contributions are equally broad; they range from the standard script through the case study to the multi-media e-learning tool.

Educational discussion and international networking

Comment panels for each contribution support the exchange of information and the educational discussion among lecturers, and form the basis for international cooperation.

Open access policy

All materials are freely accessible. Your employer should be a member of OEP; if this is not the case, we would ask you to make a voluntary donation.

Organisation

Funding body: AMS

The Open Education Platform for Business Schools is supported financially by the Association of Management Schools Switzerland – AMS. The AMS is an interest group representing business schools in Switzerland:

For further information about the activities of the AMS and its partner schools, please consult the website of AMS.

The following international Business Schools are also members of OEP:

Editorial board and chief editor

The editorial board is composed of a total of eighteen deputy editors from the partner schools and the chief editor. They are all experts in their own particular specialist subjects and are responsible for the quality assurance and the strategic orientation of the platform. They are paid a fee by the AMS for their editorial activities.

The deputy editors are responsible for the choice of suitable reviewers and will decide on the publication of a contribution on the basis of the reviews. When proposing amendments to authors, they will offer specific suggestions as to what should be changed.

The members of the editorial board are as follows:

Office

The editorial associates are responsible for the organisational, formal and editorial work of OEP. They are your contact for editorial questions and will provide help with registration or submission of a contribution.

Head of the office:

M.Sc. Sebastian Linxen, Profil FHNW

Editorial Associate:

Janine Jäger, Profil FHNW

Reviewers

OEP reviewers have in-depth knowledge in their specialist fields. They are proven experts in their subjects and are recruited from the partner schools and also from other universities in Germany and abroad.

The role of the reviewers is to write an assessment of a submitted contribution within a specified period of time and to submit to the deputy editor a clear and well-founded recommendation regarding the publication of the contribution. The duties of a reviewer are unpaid.

If you are interested in becoming one of our reviewers, please contact the chief editor.

Here you find further information on the review process.

Partner schools

If the members of your university are actively participating in OEP, reading our contributions and also publishing here, we would appreciate it if you would contribute to the support of OEP and become a partner school.

To do so, please contact the chief editor.
